Tulloch Marsanne
Special Cellar Door Release

Vintage: 2003

100% Hunter Valley Marsanne

This unusual grape variety exhibits a fragrant nose with hints of honeysuckle and guava.

Marsanne is traditionally grown in the Hermitage area of the Rhone Valley in France and has proven both difficult and temperamental to grow.

This wine was cool fermented in stainless steel prior to early bottling to retain the freshness of the fruit flavours. An alluring perfume of chamomile and honeysuckle on the nose is richly balanced by a slightly spicy palate with good depth and texture.

The Marsanne is full of fresh fruit flavours in its youth or rewards short term cellaring.

Serving Suggestions

Often quite a difficult wine to match with food, but light enough to enjoy all on it's own. Also an interesting match to leek and potato soup or any richly flavoured soup not too heavy on cream.
